About this site
Why we built it
Every year, millions of people plug an iPhone into a Windows PC and discover their photos won't open. HEIC is a great format for saving space — and a frustrating one when a website, a print shop or an old program demands a JPG. We wanted a converter that just works: no sign-up walls, no watermarks, no "you've reached your free limit", and no uploading personal photos to a stranger's server.
How it works
The entire converter runs in your browser via WebAssembly. Your images are decoded and re-encoded locally, on your own device. You can verify this yourself: open the tool, disconnect from the internet, and it will keep converting.
The site is free — how?
The site costs almost nothing to run (static hosting, no servers processing your images), so unobtrusive banner advertising covers the costs. That's the whole business model: no paid tiers, no feature locking, no data selling.
